THE COWBOYS ARE ARRIVING AND THE SECONDS ARE TICKING AWAY UNTIL THE 26TH ANNUAL GEORGE STRAIT TEAM ROPING CLASSIC
 
Official registration begins at 5pm Thursday, March 13th
 
San Antonio, TX---The cowboys have begun arriving in San Antonio ready to unload and pay up their $1000 entry fees for the 26th Annual GSTRC. Official registration starts on Thursday night from 5pm to 10pm and again on Friday morning. All registration fees must be paid by 9am on Friday, March 14th. Crews have been sprucing up the facilities and hanging banners all over the arena and outer areas this week while sponsors and vendors will be setting up their booth in the fan friendly vendor area all day on Thursday. U.S. Smokeless Tobacco has been busy installing itís huge digital scoreboard which is always a big hit with the fans and contestants alike. In addition, Cavender Chevrolet of Boerne, Tx and Bruton Trailers will be pulling all of their display rigs in as well.

Fans have already begun arriving in town checking into hotels and campgrounds but the major influx will be arriving Thursday. They will all be arriving at the San Antonio Rose Palace in droves beginning very early on Friday morning to make sure they donít miss a thing. Fans will start hitting Bill Millers BBQ and the concession stands with a fervor for a quick breakfast before moving over to the Merchandise stand to check out the 26th annual GSTRC T-Shirt and cap along with all the other George Strait merchandise. In the meantime, over the next couple of days, they will check out all the sponsor and vendor booths while catching the greatest team ropers in America in action.

In 2007, 627 teams put up $800 each to compete for more than $500,000 in cash and prizes. In 2008, the entry fee of $1000 per team will make the prize money even bigger. In addition to the prize money, Cavender Chevrolet of Boerne, Texas will provide the champion header and heeler each with a 2008 Chevy dually Pick-up truck to pull their Bruton Strait Extreme Three-Horse slant trailers home loaded with all that winning cash. Last years winners, Nick Sartain and Jhett Johnson, earned more than $42,000 a piece.
