Strait, one of the most popular recording artists in history, has sold more than 71 million records and earned more platinum or multi-platinum discs than any other musician in his genre. He continues to break arena attendance records, along with other artists’ records and shattered his own record earlier this year in Little Rock, Ark. during his George Strait Arena Tour.

Strait recently scored his 53rd No. 1 hit with “Give It Away,” giving him more solo No. 1 songs than any artist in the industry. An integral part of the fabric of the music industry for more than 25 years, Strait’s Pure Country album is the best-selling country soundtrack of all time and his Strait Out of the Box is the best-selling country box set of all time.

Strait will wish fans a merry Christmas this season with the new 2006 Hallmark Christmas album, Fresh Cut Christmas, which weaves Strait’s unique style into traditional seasonal music that families everywhere have come to love. Songs include the Christmas anthem “We Three Kings,” the playful “Up on the Housetop,” and enduring classics such as “Hark, The Herald Angels Sing,” “Deck the Halls,” “O Come, All Ye Faithful” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.” Strait personally selected 10 Christmas classics for the album which will be available only in November and December at Hallmark Gold Crown® stores. It will be offered alongside special Strait “O Christmas Tree” song cards.

“These are the songs I grew up with, but I added a little country flavor to each one so my fans can appreciate them,” said Strait. “Christmas is a wonderful time when new memories are made and old ones resurface. I hope my fans will make Fresh Cut Christmas a new tradition in their homes during this happy season.”

Strait has a remarkable talent for remaining fresh and current while remaining true to his musical roots and honkytonk style. In doing so, he has forged one of the most successful careers in music history. His keen sense of song selection and his subtle, yet poignant, delivery has earned him praise from fans, critics and peers alike. Countless other recording artists including Garth Brooks, Clint Black, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney and Alan Jackson have named Strait as a direct influence on their music and their careers.

Throughout his unparalleled 25-year career, he has earned a number of industry awards including four American Music Awards, 12 Academy of Country Music Awards including 2003’s “Gene Weed” Special Achievement award recogniz
