Team ropers from all across the country are beginning to arrive at the San Antonio Rose Palace. Six hundred fifty teams pre-registered for the event last week and most are expected to show up here this weekend. The long line of trucks and horse trailers stretches for some distance in front of the Rose Palace entry gate. The rain has been falling since yesteray and the temperature has dipped down into the 30's and isn't expected to get higher than the forties or low fifties for the next couple of days. Everybody is bundled up in an effort to keep warm.
The Cavender Chevy trucks and Bruton Strait Extreme Trailers are ready, banners are hung, the vendors are set up, the U.S. Tobacco scoreboard is hung and the excitement level is running high. Official registration began at 5pm tonight and all ropers must be registered by 9:30 tomorrow morning in order to get the event off as scheduled at 10am.
